Piemonte: A cyclist’s playground and an Italian food & wine lover’s paradise

Nestled between the Alps and the Mediterranean lies this secret slice of paradise. If you spend your days dreaming of quiet, undiscovered roads and continual rolling hills, together with awe inspiring mountains and climbs, made famous by the Giro d’Italia and Fausto Coppi, then this incredible experience in Piemonte awaits you.

Join us for the cycling adventure of a lifetime and the most incredible celebration of food and wine, as we indulge the senses in the Langhe-Roero UNESCO world heritage wine region, and home of Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera wines, at harvest time – and join in the harvest celebration of the prized white truffle of Alba. We’ll discover the majestic beauty and charm of this region in all its Autumn splendour, and savour time honoured, gastronomic traditions in the home of Slow Food.

For cyclists who are food and wine lovers, it’s hard to imagine a more perfect week.

If you’re not up for the challenge of these mountain passes and climbs, we have shorter ride options available in and around the Po Valley on our last 2 days.

We will then prepare ourselves for our move to the alpine splendour that awaits in the historic town of Saluzzo, nestled at the foot of the Alps.  The cuisine here is wonderful and the cheeses are superb.

Whether it’s a local icy cold beer, a glass of regional wine or our personal favourite in Piemonte, the Martini, it’s our shout.

Warm, engaging Italian hospitality – your hosts, Damian Hancock and Nancy De Losa will lead you through the week, sharing their warm, open entertaining style.  Combining Damian’s experience in leading group rides with their huge passion for Italian food and culture, means you’ll feel right at home in every town we visit. You’ll relish the experience that comes from their meticulous planning and attention to detail in all areas on and off the bike. .

A Finale Dinner in true Saluzzo style  – we will raise our glasses and toast an incredible week of riding, food, wine and new friendships in true Saluzzo style, overlooking this beautiful historic town and the valleys and hills of Piemonte from our selected restaurant, and savouring our final dinner together. Salute!

Generous free time to explore all that the magnificent towns of the Piemonte region have to offer – we believe a big part of the enjoyment of travel is being able to spontaneously duck into the piazza to enjoy a glass of wine and some cheese, or a coffee or gelato.  That’s why our 2 accommodation choices are in beautiful towns with so much on offer; from galleries, churches, sights, shopping, food, wine and more. Whatever it is that you like to do, there will be free time set aside for you to enjoy your own slice of heaven.
